Small Neodymium magnets

Neodymium magnets have taken over the lion’s share of the magnet market these days, and for good reason. Even the smallest micro magnet packs a punch when compared with Ferrite or Alnico magnets. Rare Earth magnets are capable of achieving a surprisingly strong magnet hold even in tiny magnet form. This makes them ideal for applications that require the magnet to be concealed within an object. Magnets have become common to find in a product’s clasp, lid or fabric closure.

We specialise in Neodymium magnets and our range includes grades from N35 through to N52 (the most powerful magnet grade). Neodymium magnets generally have a relatively low heat tolerance compared to other permanent magnets. However, some specialist grades of magnets enable the Neodymium magnet to remain operational in temperatures up to 200°C.
These high temperature grades are particularly popular for small magnets. Mini magnets are often used in applications that require their compact form. Alternative magnets like Ferrite or Samarium Cobalt have higher temperature ranges. Unfortunately, they are magnetically weaker and require a larger sized magnet to achieve a similar holding power.

FAQ

Best uses for small magnets?

Small magnets have endless uses and are extremely versatile. Generally speaking, their applications fall into two main categories. A concealed means of magnetic adhesion or as a component part in small electronic products.
The design has become increasingly simplistic and minimal in recent decades leaving little room for clunky clips, zips, clasps and buttons. These days designers often turn to magnets for a hidden means of closing or attaching items. Allowing them to find a practical solution without the need to compromise the design visually. A huge variety of products incorporate micro magnets in their mechanical and electronic processes. Speakers, motors, cordless power tools, phones, the list goes on and on.

Where can I buy small magnets?

Unlike brick and mortar stores, AMF is available 24/7. You can shop online with the convenience of a click, knowing you will receive free standard shipping for orders over $30. If you require assistance our team is available on the phone or email to answer any question you may have. We’ve also put together an extensive collection of FAQs to help give you all the information at your fingertips.

The Pull Force listed for each magnet is based on lifting 10mm thick steel from a horizontal surface. Magnets on a vertical surface (of 10mm thick steel) are generally able to hold around only 30% of the pull force listed in the product description. This is due to the effects of gravity and the lack of friction between the surface and the shiny magnet. Read More
